Kent Redford is the principal of Archipelago Consulting, a Maine-based firm he founded in 2011. Dr. Redford has devoted his career to advancing biodiversity and conservation science through innovative strategies and global collaborations. He previously served as the Director of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Institute and Vice President of Conservation Strategies at WCS, as well as leading key programs at The Nature Conservancy.
His work has spanned numerous influential initiatives, from evaluating private protected areas for the IUCN to exploring the role of synthetic biology in conservation. Dr. Redford is also an accomplished author and editor, contributing extensively to conservation literature, including his recent book, Strange Natures: Conservation in the Era of Synthetic Biology. With decades of experience, he continues to engage with conservation organizations, policymakers, and academics to shape the future of wildlife protection and sustainability
