Dr. Nicole Redvers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, where she holds the Western Research Chair in Indigenous Health. A member of the Deninu K’ue First Nation, Dr. Redvers has spent her career integrating Indigenous perspectives into health research, public health initiatives, and clinical education. She is a co-founder of the Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation, which received the $1 million Arctic Inspiration Prize to develop culturally safe health programming.
Dr. Redvers’s research focuses on the intersection of Indigenous knowledge systems and planetary health, particularly the role of traditional ecological knowledge in addressing global environmental and health challenges. She has authored numerous academic articles and a book, The Science of the Sacred: Bridging Global Indigenous Medicine Systems and Modern Scientific Principles. Her work has received international recognition for its innovative approach to sustainability, health equity, and the incorporation of Indigenous values into health and environmental policy.
