Our mission is to advance the understanding of the interconnectedness of microbiology and social equity. We aim to illuminate how microbial communities impact and are impacted by social, economic, and environmental factors, promoting research, education, and policy initiatives that support equity and sustainability in human and environmental health across diverse communities.
Our research spans multiple areas that explore the critical connections between microbiology and social equity. The core research areas we focus on are Agriculture and Food Systems, Bioethnography, Diet and Gut Health, Early Life and Vaginal Health, and Environment.
