This event has now concluded.
Thank you to everyone who joined the 2025 Microbes and Social Equity (MSE) Summit, held online from 7–10 July. The event brought together researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to explore what it means to practise microbiome stewardship across scientific, social, and environmental contexts.
Across four days, participants engaged with a wide range of topics, such as microbial data ethics, biodiversity conservation, Indigenous knowledge, public health, food systems, and subsurface environments. Sessions focused on the shared challenge of creating more equitable, responsible, and sustainable approaches to working with microbial communities. The summit featured live webinars, interactive workshops, and a collective process to refine the guiding principles of microbiome stewardship. It was designed to support practical action as well as deeper thinking about how microbiome science intersects with justice, policy, and care.
Access to on-demand content from the MSE Summit 2025 is currently available to MSE and AMI members, registered participants and anyone who signs up to the MSE newsletter mailing list.
