AMI is planning to host a virtual international roundtable on the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance, (GAP-AMR) in response to its current revision and the associated open consultation seeking input on the new draft.

About the GAP-AMR

The GAP-AMR is a strategic framework, adopted by the World Health Assembly (the governing body of the World Health Organisation) that is recognised as the blueprint for addressing AMR globally. During the UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Meeting on AMR in 2024, it was requested that the GAP-AMR be updated by 2026 to reflect on the lessons learned and knowledge gaps identified over the years.

Building on the success of AMI’s 2022 roundtable and publication reviewing the UK's revised National Action Plan on AMR, we are looking to host a roundtable this September to submit a unified response from AMI's community on the draft GAP-AMR, ahead of the consultation window closing.
